From cold starters to dessert: the pleasure of eating well
At Ütia da Rit in Alta Badia we want to promote quality dining. How we do it, is cooking everyday with love and care, embodying the values of our culinary tradition and using only typical and local ingredients of our territory, such as game, cheese, flour, wines and spirits, which make our menu “simple”, but tasty and original. You can choose between South Tyrolean cold cuts and cheese, dumplings, home-made pasta or tagliatelle, sliced beef, goulash, gerstl and more! The majority of the meat that we prepare in our mountain hut comes from our farm, as well as bacon and various sausages.
Dessert lovers can also taste apple strudel, Sacher cake, vanilla ice cream with warm raspberries or yogurt with bilberries. Our menu is perfect for everyone and both for small and big appetite: you can opt for a small meal, to better taste our plates. We are open from morning to late afternoon, but you can also book for dinner and to celebrate holidays, birthdays and private parties. You just have to take your bike or walk to our hut and get ready for an unforgettable culinary experience!

In a privileged location
at 2000 meters altitude
An entire territory to discover, walking or riding a mountain bike
"Ütia" means shelter in Ladin, while "Rit" refers to the place where we are, which is La Val ("La Valle") in Alta Badia, a small village of about 1400 inhabitants at the borders of Fanes – Sennes – Braies Natural Park. We are at 2000 meters altitude, surrounded by some of the most important Peaks of the Dolomites, such as: Sasso Croce, Punta 9 and Punta 10, Sasso Putia, Marmolada, Puez e Lavarella. In this territory the tourists have the chance to explore the mountains walking or riding a mountain bike and can easily find refreshment points on the way.
Our mountain hut is easily recognizable, thanks to its typical aspect of mountain cottages, old barns or local little houses, with circular fir trunks outside, roof with photovoltaic panels, larch interior cladding, sturdy tables and chairs… Many paths around our hut lead to higher places, like Piz de Pares or Crusc da Rit. However, there are many ways to get to Ütia da Rit in Alta Badia, too, suitable for everyone, also for families with baby carrier backpacks or stroller. Here you can find the most famous uphill paths to reach the mountain hut.
